Would you like something special and unique to you? If you are visiting the Lake District, perhaps for the first time and want to ensure that you get to see and do all the things which most interest you, then a bespoke tour is for you.
Perhaps you are visiting from overseas and are visiting Cumbria as part of a longer tour - make sure that you see the best of the area by having your own personal guide to show you round. I will ensure that you get a feel for the real Cumbria, the one the locals see as well as top visitor attractions if that is what you enjoy.
I recommend at least a little walking to really feel the benefit of the incredibly fresh, unpolluted air here. Walking by water, either lakes or rivers also makes you feel great! It is also the best way to really feel part of a place, to get underneath its skin and not just be an outsider looking in.
For this reason (amongst others) I also recommend using public transport wherever possible. Particularly if you normally use a car to get from place to place, it’s really refreshing to enjoy a different mode of transport, one where you get to meet other people, have a great view - and know that you’re being kind to the environment at the same time!
Why not try something different? As part of your tour I can arrange for you to visit homes or gardens not usually open to the public, try your hand at making something, taste some local produce, beer or wine or include an adventure activity. There really is so much to do in Cumbria and the Lake District - you'll need to come back again and again!
Perhaps you would just like your holiday planned for you? See Itinerary Planning for more on this. Or it may be that you would like me to meet you, your family or your group at various times during the day to guide you - leaving you free to explore on your own the rest of the time. Alternatively, I can accompany you for the whole of the time that you are in Cumbria - plan your holiday, make all the arrangements and guide you whilst you are here. It’s your holiday - I’m here to help you make it the best one ever!
There are so many ways to explore Cumbria - and they don't all involve driving around in your own car where the driver hardly gets to see anything. Public transport is a sustainable way to see the Lake District in particular - and as buses are higher up, you get to see more too. I've planned several walking tours which involve using a bus - it's a fun and different way to enjoy your holiday.
Tent, eco-pod, yurt, tipi, caravan, country inn, guest house or luxury hotel - the choice is yours. There are various accommodation providers with green credentials in the area if that is your preferred option.
