Penrith Wordsworth School

Discover Penrith

Discover the “heart of Cumbria” on this two-hour walking tour of an ancient town.  On a crossroads of routes, Penrith has been important as a trading and market place since at least Roman times.  Neolithic settlements in the area suggest it has been settled for thousands of years.

Discover where William Wordsworth went to school, where Richard III lived when Duke of Gloucester and in charge of the North for his brother, Edward IV and where ordinary folk lived and worked.  A real ‘working’ market town, Penrith has a fascinating past which is reflected in the town today.
This tour is available for groups of 4 people or more - get in touch for availability.
